Each month, a guest artist curates a playlist exclusively for HEREU. Inspired by the Mediterranean, the selections reflect a mix of cultures, moods, and memories. A quiet soundtrack to the world that shapes our vision.
No Wall
This playlist is a journey from the roots to the heavens. Telluric rhythms, ancestral chants, cross-cultural harmonies and suspended time. The union: the ritual air. In this union, there is no wall between convention and originality, between the past and the present.
The playlist's ritualistic feel is inspired by Kae Tempest's words:
“As dark and dense and wet as earth
As vast and bright and sweet as air”

'Así es como yo llamo a mí casa en Menorca. Suena a mi hogar, esté donde esté; a ese hogar que va con uno mismo aunque cambia el lugar. Habla del hogar como estado capaz de modificarte y es una invitación a ser, por un ratito, parte de mí.'
Italian moreneta
'This playlist captures the songs that have accompanied me in my dreams, creating a space where familiar sounds blend with new understandings. These inspirations have guided me, leading to what will be my first album.'
Enamoradita de esta musiquita
'I’ve put this playlist together with care, knowing there were so many more I could have chosen. But these songs stay with me, they are part of my past and my present. They inspire me, move me.A celebration of music, a celebration of love.'
Desigo Serari
'This playlist evokes the landscapes of an imagined folklore. It conjures impossible, unreal spaces where unfamiliar instruments and voices resonate, as if they’ve been echoing for ages. The playlist flows through serene, nostalgic, and dramatic moments, always maintaining an air of ancestral sobriety.'
Tidying up the kitchen while feeling like a movie star
'It's Sunday morning, and the tower of Tupperware stacked on the counter is waiting for you to tidy it up. Every wall in the kitchen feels like orchestra seating, so it doesn't matter that there are also four plates to wash, two empty pizza boxes, and some oil splattered between the stoves. Roll up your pyjama sleeves and get ready to star in your own musical show. This is the mental scenario I use to bring order to any room in my house. I am a tremendously messy person, but paradoxically, I love tidying up the house with a good playlist. I created this playlist so that everyone can tidy up and clean the kitchen- or whatever else needs to be done.'
Every moment could be the last
'Each song on the playlist, though unique, evokes a sense of nostalgia for something that hasn’t ended, yet feels as if it could fade away at any moment. Played in order, the tracks flow seamlessly, building in energy and emotion. To me, each represents a different kind of ending, yet listeners might find that experimenting with the order creates new and surprising effects.'
'A moment of profound vulnerability, drifting between the edges of dreams and wakefulness'
'Esta playlist está compuesta de bulerías, fandangos, tangos; o lo que es lo mismo: mi fetiche, mi fiesta, mi borrachera.'
'Tracks that engage in a magical dialogue about different known and unknown forms of love.’
'St. Augustine confessed understanding time alone, yet struggled to explain it when questioned. Similarly, this happens with the experience of 'new love', hence we continue to make songs in a circular way in relation to this experience that moves the world.'
'A portrayal of the varied influences that shape my approach when creating my own music.'
'This playlist captures the sounds of the Mediterranean, a fusion of all music that evokes cultural diversity and the interconnection which has prevailed throughout human existence in the waters of a sea where Asia, Africa and Europe band together.'
'Songs to settle back into a routine in a good mood and with plenty of energy. It is advised to rhythm walk to the music in the playlist. Ideal to listen to on the bus on your way to work (this is how each song has been picked).'
'There’s a common generalisation that happens when referring to gay culture. I love both disco and sass, but the layers that make up my queerness run much deeper than that. This playlist navigates those layers.
Songs that made me feel identified. Songs that helped me survive the loneliness of confusion. Songs that made me curious and opened new doors of awareness. Essentially, songs that make me proud to be a homo.
Happy Pride, lovers.'
