SEGONA RESIDÈNCIA VOL. 2
Oscar Tusquets
16 October — 18 December 2026
Oscar Tusquets is a Barcelona-born architect, designer, painter and writer whose multidisciplinary practice has spanned more than six decades. Moving between architecture, design, art and publishing, his work reflects a continuous dialogue across disciplines.
Trained in architecture at the Barcelona School of Architecture and in drawing at La Llotja, Tusquets has developed a practice in which architecture and design have continuously intersected with art, publishing and writing. In 1964, he co-founded Studio PER with Lluís Clotet, Pep Bonet and Cristian Cirici, followed by Tusquets Editores with Beatriz de Moura in 1969 and BD Barcelona Design in 1972. His architectural work includes projects across Spain, Italy, Germany, Japan and the United States, as well as collaborations with Salvador Dalí, including the Mae West Room at the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres.
Alongside architecture and design, painting has remained a significant part of his practice. Tusquets has exhibited regularly since 1998, culminating in a major retrospective at Fundació Vila Casas in 2022, which brought together more than two hundred works spanning fifty years. His work is also held in the permanent collections of institutions including MoMA, the Centre Pompidou and the Vitra Design Museum.
Over the course of his life, Tusquets has gathered a personal collection of artworks and objects spanning different periods and disciplines. Anonymous Greco-Roman antiquities coexist with works by Salvador Dalí, Pablo Gargallo, Josep Llimona, Miquel Barceló, Juan Bordes and Javier Mariscal, reflecting both his interests and the encounters and relationships that have accompanied his trajectory.
For the second edition of SEGONA RESIDÈNCIA, a selection from this collection comes together as a personal visual landscape. Spanning more than two thousand years, the exhibition establishes connections between the human figure, ornament and Mediterranean culture, bringing works from different periods into dialogue and offering an insight into the references and affinities that have shaped Tusquets’ creative universe.
