The style is derived from practical footwear once worn by fishermen from the coastal and island communities of the Mediterranean which were later appropriated as go-to summer footwear by tourists and locals alike.
HEREU’s decision to include them as a continuous presence in its collections takes into account the long history and manifests our approach to craft, which is guided by tradition and defined by a contemporary aesthetic.
